Wipro Limited has officially expanded its footprint into the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), marking a strategic milestone in its mission to lead AI-driven digital transformation for the global financial sector.

Launched on March 19, 2026, the new facility is designed to serve as a high-tech nerve center for Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) clients worldwide.

Scaling Wipro Intelligence™ in India’s Financial Hub

The Gandhinagar hub is specifically aligned with Wipro Intelligence™, the company’s unified suite of AI-powered platforms.

By establishing a physical presence in India’s first International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), Wipro aims to accelerate consulting-led innovations.

The center will focus on critical financial workflows, including digital banking, capital markets, regulatory technology (RegTech), and core platform modernization.

This “AI-first” approach helps global institutions embed responsible AI into risk management and compliance frameworks.

Strategic Investment and Talent Growth by Wipro

Sanjeev Jain, Wipro’s Chief Operating Officer, emphasized that the GIFT City expansion is a strategic investment to scale the company’s domain expertise.

The hub currently offers 150 ready-to-deploy seats, with a modular design that allows for rapid scaling up to 500 seats as client demand grows.

Wipro is tapping into Gujarat’s robust graduate talent pool to build a future-ready workforce. This team will handle complex cross-border financial operations.

Government Support and Economic Impact

The move has received strong backing from the Gujarat state government.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Sanghavi noted that Wipro’s arrival reinforces Gujarat’s growing prominence as a premier destination for high-value digital capabilities.

The state provides world-class infrastructure and policy support. This commitment has been a key factor in attracting global tech leaders like Wipro to the region.

Wipro Limited: A Vision for Sustainable Growth

As Wipro continues to manage over 230,000 employees globally, this new hub represents a shift toward concentrated, high-specialization centers.

Wipro seeks to create long-term value by co-innovating with clients within the GIFT City ecosystem.

This initiative supports sustainable growth in an increasingly automated financial landscape.
