The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has shared clear guidelines for MoPR Internship under the updated Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA).

This program invites undergraduate, postgraduate, and research students from recognized institutions across India. It gives them a chance to learn how rural governance works in real settings.

Overview: Internship program of the MoPR

The internship can last from 15 days to six months. Selected students will work on tasks like research, policy review, and data analysis related to Panchayati Raj and rural development.

The goal is to connect classroom learning with real policy work. It also helps students understand issues at the village, block, and district levels.

Focus on Research and Data Work

Interns will work with the National Project Management Unit and support ongoing research and monitoring work. They will handle both number-based and descriptive data to study how government programs perform on the ground.

A major part of the work is linked to local use of Sustainable Development Goals. Interns will help prepare reports, policy notes, and research papers.

They will also learn how the three-level Panchayati Raj system works, which will build their understanding of local governance.

Application Process and NOC

Students must apply online for the internship. They also need to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their institution in the required format.

The NOC should include details like the student’s name, ID, course, semester or year, department, and internship period. It must also mention the student’s conduct.

The document should be printed on official letterhead and signed by the Head of Department or Principal. Proper documents are required for selection.

Stipend and Benefits

Selected interns will receive ₹7,000 per month. Travel and daily expenses will also be covered as per government rules. After completing the internship, students will get an official certificate.

The program also helps students build strong work skills. By working on real policy issues, they gain useful knowledge about governance, rural challenges, and decision-making based on data. This experience can help them in careers related to public policy and administration.
