HCLTech, a leading global technology company with over 226,600 employees across 60 countries, today significantly reinforced its commitment to growth in Western Canada by announcing the official opening of its new office in Calgary, Alberta.

The expansion follows the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Invest Alberta, solidifying HCLTech’s commitment to advancing technology collaboration and innovation within the province.

The new facility is located at The Ampersand, a premier office complex in downtown Calgary. Designed as a collaboration-first environment, the space will serve as a crucial client co-innovation and delivery center.

This hub will enable HCLTech to work closely with local clients and ecosystem partners to drive innovation and deliver transformative technology solutions across major verticals, including Financial Services, Manufacturing, and Healthcare.

HCLTech Deepening Roots in the Canadian Tech Ecosystem

The Calgary office marks a significant step in expanding HCLTech’s presence in Canada.

This expansion is beyond its existing delivery and innovation centers in Mississauga, Moncton, and Vancouver.

The company currently supports more than 50 major Canadian enterprises and views Alberta as a key market for future growth.

The official inauguration coincided with the company’s Annual Year-End Reception in Calgary.

Clients, partners, and industry leaders joined HCLTech executive leadership at the reception to celebrate the milestone.

The office reflects HCLTech’s long-term vision to create local jobs, contribute to Alberta’s economy, and strengthen Canada’s technology ecosystem.

Focus on AI, Cybersecurity, and Data

Dave Chopra, Executive Vice President and Canada Country Head for HCLTech, emphasized the strategic focus of the new center: “The opening of our Calgary office marks an important step in expanding our presence in Western Canada and advancing the digital transformation journeys of our clients.”

He added, “As we deepen our collaboration with Invest Alberta and accelerate our focus on AI, cybersecurity and data, we see tremendous opportunity to co-innovate with the region’s growing technology community.”

The strategic partnership with Invest Alberta will facilitate HCLTech’s efforts to deepen its presence in the province.

Additionally, it will allow the company to collaborate with local enterprises, educational institutions, and government stakeholders.

Alberta’s Growing Global Appeal

The success of this partnership underscores Alberta’s rising status as a destination for global tech investment.

Rick Christiaanse, CEO of Invest Alberta, celebrated the achievement: “This is the fifth Indian IT company that IAC has helped land in Calgary. We are very proud of this milestone, as it demonstrates Alberta’s growing appeal in the global tech sector. We celebrate this achievement, the result of collaboration and true teamwork.”

HCLTech is a global leader with consolidated revenues of $14.2 billion (12 months ending September 2025), delivering industry-leading capabilities centered around AI, digital, engineering, cloud, and software.

Its arrival is therefore a substantial boost to Calgary’s specialized technology landscape.
