The programme gives young researchers hands-on research experience under the guidance of IIT Mandi faculty.

Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹10,000. They will take part in research across engineering, sciences, humanities, and other related fields. The training aims to build strong academic skills and improve career prospects in research and industry.

The internship will begin on May 25, 2026, and will run for two months. After completing the programme, interns will receive a certificate. This may help them in future studies or job applications.

Applications are open to:

  • Pre-final year undergraduate students in engineering or technology programmes, and
  • First-year postgraduate students from recognised institutions that have a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IIT Mandi.

Interns will work closely with faculty members. Their tasks may include experiments, simulations, data analysis, and preparing reports and presentations.

Students must apply online through the official IIT Mandi portal. They need to submit academic transcripts, a bonafide student certificate, and a personal statement explaining their research interests.

The last date to apply is March 30, 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email.
