Union Government has announced the formation of a high-level committee titled “Education to Employment and Enterprise” (EEE).

This initiative, unveiled as part of the Union Budget 2026-27 roadmap, aims to bridge the widening gap between academic qualifications and industry requirements while fostering a culture of entrepreneurship across the country.

The Triple ‘E’ Vision

The committee is designed to act as a bridge between the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Skill Development, and key industry bodies.

By focusing on “Education, Employment, and Enterprise,” the government intends to create a seamless pipeline where students are not just degree-holders but are equipped with market-ready skills or the resources to launch their own ventures.

The primary focus will be on high-growth areas within the services sector, including IT-enabled services, financial technology, healthcare, and tourism.

EEE Committee: Promoting the Services Sector

Recognizing that the services sector contributes over 50% to India’s GDP, the EEE committee will work on identifying specific skill shortages.

It aims to modernize vocational training and integrate global certification standards into the Indian curriculum.

A key mandate for the committee is to encourage “Enterprise” by simplifying the transition for young professionals to become service providers and consultants, thereby shifting the mindset from job-seeking to job-creating.

EEE Committee Key Initiatives and Industry Integration

The committee will oversee the expansion of apprenticeship programs and mandate closer collaboration between universities and corporate houses.

The government expects to offer specific incentives to companies that co-design curriculum modules or provide hands-on training platforms.

The committee will facilitate access to “soft credit” and incubation hubs.

These resources will support students looking to start service-based enterprises directly after their education.

Long-term Economic Impact

The government expects to enhance India’s “human capital export” and domestic service efficiency.

This will be achieved by aligning educational outcomes with the evolving needs of the global services market.

Officials believe this institutional framework will be a cornerstone in achieving the ‘Viksit Bharat’ goal.

It ensures that the youth bulge becomes a demographic dividend rather than a challenge.
