Zomato CEO Invites Ex-Employees Back to Eternal

Deepinder Goyal, the founder and CEO of Zomato, has issued a public invitation to former employees to return to the company.
Deepinder highlighted that the organization—now operating under the “Eternal” umbrella—has transitioned into a “more organised, less chaotic” entity, signaling a significant shift in its corporate culture and maturity.
Zomato Evolution to ‘Eternal’
The rebranding to Eternal reflects Zomato’s evolution from a single-service food delivery app into a multi-vertical conglomerate.
This umbrella brand currently houses four major businesses: Zomato (Food Delivery), Blinkit (Quick Commerce), Hyperpure (B2B Supplies), and Going-out (Events and Ticketing).
By rebranding, Deepinder aims to foster a “house of brands” culture where each business unit operates with its own CEO while adhering to a unified set of organizational values.
A Call for ‘Boomsrange’ Talent
Deepinder’s outreach specifically targets “alumni” who may have left during the company’s high-growth, high-friction years.
He acknowledged that the earlier days of Zomato were characterized by the frantic energy of a startup, which occasionally led to burnout or systemic instability.
However, he asserts that the current framework provides a more disciplined environment.
“We are now much more organized and less chaotic than we used to be,” Deepinder stated, emphasizing that the company is looking for experienced hands to lead its next phase of global expansion and profitability.
Zomato CEO’s Focus on Operational Maturity and Profitability
The call for ex-employees comes at a time when Zomato has consistently demonstrated financial strength, posting consecutive profitable quarters.
The integration of Blinkit has turned into a massive success, and the company’s recent acquisition of Paytm’s entertainment ticketing business further expands its footprint.
This stability is the primary selling point for returning talent who seek the thrill of a startup with the security of a market leader.
Cultural Transformation
Beyond business metrics, the “Eternal” philosophy focuses on long-term sustainability.
Deepinder’s message suggests that the company has moved away from the “move fast and break things” era toward a “build to last” mindset.
By bringing back former employees, Zomato hopes to leverage their institutional knowledge while integrating them into this new, more structured ecosystem.
