Wagh Bakri Tea Group Appoints Swayampriya Shah as CHRO

Wagh Bakri Tea Group has appointed Swayampriya Shah as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Based in Ahmedabad, she took charge in February 2026 and will lead human resources across all group businesses.

Sharing the excitement on LinkedIn, Swayampriya said she is pleased to join Wagh Bakri Tea Group as CHRO. She noted that the company’s long history and strong values have built one of India’s most respected brands.

She added that she looks forward to working with teams to build a forward-looking people plan, strengthen the organization, and support a culture focused on results and purpose. She also expressed thanks for the experiences that shaped her career and said she is ready for the road ahead.

Extensive Experience and Background

With more than 20 years of HR experience across sectors, she brings strong leadership to her new role.

Swayampriya joins Wagh Bakri Tea Group (GTPPL) after seven years at Bira 91. During her time there, she held key roles, including Senior Vice President – HR and Administration, Vice President – HR and Administration, and Director – HR. She helped set up strong HR systems and supported fast business growth.

Earlier in her career, she worked in senior HR roles at Weber Shandwick India, Beam Global Spirits & Wine, and Text100.

She holds an MBA in HR from FORE School of Management and a degree in Economics from Jesus and Mary College.
