Nvidia India Payouts: 10,000 Employees Receive Bonus Stock

Nvidia, the world’s leading force in artificial intelligence computing, has extended a substantial wave of rewards to its Indian workforce.
Leveraging its meteoric rise in market valuation, the company has rolled out the “Jensen Special Grant”—a one-time equity bonus named after CEO Jensen Huang—to the majority of its 10,000 employees based in India.
Nvidia Stock-Heavy Payouts and the ₹1 Crore Milestone
The special grant provides eligible employees with an additional 25% of their initial Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
According to leaked data from salary intelligence platforms, these payouts range from ₹5 lakh to as high as ₹1 croreover the four-year vesting period.
The grant values were locked in during a period of significant growth, with the first 6.25% portion having vested in late 2024.
For mid-to-senior level engineers, particularly those in chip design and AI solutions architecture, this equity surge has transformed their compensation profiles.
In some instances, unvested equity for mid-level staff has climbed to over ₹1.2 crore, as Nvidia’s share price continues to benefit from global demand for H100 and Blackwell chips.
The “AI Economy” Compensation Model
Nvidia is fundamentally shifting the compensation landscape in India’s tech hubs. Unlike traditional IT services, where fixed pay dominates, Nvidia’s structure sees equity accounting for 50% to 75% of total compensation.
Key highlights of the 2026 pay data include:
- Top-Tier Talent: “IC6” level software and hardware engineers are now earning between ₹1.8 crore and ₹1.9 crore annually.
- Deep-Tech Premium: Experts in AI modeling and semiconductor innovation are commanding salaries reaching ₹2–3 crore, far outstripping managerial tracks.
- Wealth Creation: Industry analysts note that equity is no longer just a retention tool but the primary driver of wealth creation for India’s semiconductor talent.

Strategic Retention Amid Talent Wars
While entry-level pay remains competitive at ₹10–22 lakh, the massive upside for experienced professionals serves as a strategic moat.
As global giants like Intel and Qualcomm deepen their India footprint, Nvidia’s move to share its financial success directly with the “engineers in the trenches” reinforces its position as the employer of choice.
By aligning Indian talent with global value creation, the company ensures that its 10,000-strong India hub remains the backbone of its next-generation AI research and hardware design.
