Prashant Kishore Elevated as Head HR – Tata Steel Ludhiana

Tata Steel has promoted Prashant Kishore as Head HR – Tata Steel Ludhiana, effective February 2026. Based in Ludhiana, Punjab.

In his new role, he will lead the HR function at India’s first green steel plant—a startup backed by a 120-year legacy with a long-term outlook. He will drive the people agenda for the unit, with a focus on building workforce skills, improving employee experience, and supporting business goals through effective HR leadership.

Extensive Experience

Before this elevation, Prashant served as Senior Area Manager HRBP – Global Wires at Tata Steel in Jamshedpur from August 2025 to February 2026. He also worked as Senior Area Manager – Rewards & Industrial Relations from August 2024 to August 2025.

In that role, he led work across pay strategy, policy design, variable pay and bonus cycles, social security programs, and union discussions. He also led digital change projects aimed at improving employee experience and supported HR skill building through knowledge-sharing sessions.

Prashant began his career as a Software Engineer at Infosys before moving into HR leadership roles.

He holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from IIM Ranchi and has completed an Advanced HRM program from XLRI Jamshedpur.

He also earned a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University.
