Sterlite Group Appoints Sumil Mathur as Group CFO

Sterlite Electric, a leading capital goods maker and system integration provider, along with Resonia Ltd. and Serentica Renewables, has appointed Sumil Mathur as Group Chief Financial Officer.

Sumil brings close to 30 years of leadership experience. He will lead the Group’s financial strategy, governance, and capital planning. He will also oversee risk management and financial operations to support steady growth and long-term value across the businesses.

Experience and Background

Before joining the Group, Sumil was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at EMAAR India Limited. He played a key role in shaping and carrying out the company’s strategy after its demerger. During his time there, he strengthened financial and operational discipline, improved value through asset monetization, and built project pipelines aligned with long-term goals.

Earlier in his career, Sumil held senior leadership roles at HCL Technologies, Indus Towers, Bharti Airtel, and JCB. He has broad experience across infrastructure, real estate, telecom, and manufacturing, including large project execution, capital planning, and aligning financial plans with business goals.
