Infosys Recruitment Momentum: Record Fresher Hiring
For the first half of fiscal year 2026, Infosys has already hired 12,000 freshers and is on track to meet its ambitious target of 20,000 campus hires by year-end, as shared by CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka at the Q2 earnings conference.
The company added 8,203 employees in Q2 alone, marking the fifth consecutive quarter of net headcount growth. The overall headcount reached 331,991 after a net addition of 8,413 in H1FY26. Attrition rate fell slightly to 14.3%, reflecting stable HR retention efforts.
Infosys Growth, Rival Comparison, and Financial Highlights
Infosys stands out for its robust campus hiring, contrasting with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which recently announced a workforce reduction due to skill gaps and technology shifts.
Rival HCLTech ramped up hiring, bringing in 7,180 freshers in H1FY26 and aiming for 20,000 hires in the fiscal year. Infosys reported a 13.2% year-on-year increase in Q2 FY26 net profit to Rs 7,364 crore, driven by healthy margins and strong cash flow.
Quarterly revenue grew 8.6% to Rs 44,490 crore, with an operating margin steady at 21%. An interim dividend of Rs 23 per share was declared, up 9.5% from last year and beating most analyst expectations, although narrowly missing margin forecasts.
Infosys’s proactive hiring strategy and positive financials reflect sustained corporate investment in AI and cloud technology.
The company’s on-campus drive remains one of the top opportunities for fresh graduates from accredited technical streams, reinforcing its status as a major player in India’s IT services sector.
