Cognizant has announced a multi-year strategic partnership with Microsoft aimed at helping global enterprises evolve into AI-powered “Frontier Firms”—organizations that fundamentally redefine how work is done, unlock new business value, and scale innovation responsibly.

The collaboration reflects a shared vision to move beyond experimentation and enable enterprises to operationalize AI at scale, embedding intelligence into the core of business operations.

Under the agreement, Cognizant and Microsoft will co-build industry-grade AI solutions, jointly co-sell across global markets, and collaborate on large-scale transformation deals.

The partnership will focus on high-impact sectors such as Financial Services, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Retail, and Manufacturing, where AI-led innovation can drive measurable outcomes and long-term resilience.

Embedding Agentic AI and Copilot into Mission-Critical Workflows

A central pillar of the partnership is the deep integration of agentic AI and Microsoft Copilot capabilities into enterprise workflows. By leveraging Cognizant’s Work IQ, Foundry IQ, and Fabric IQ capabilities, the alliance will embed AI directly into mission-critical processes—accelerating productivity, enhancing customer experience, and strengthening operational resilience.

The collaboration also expands Cognizant’s Neuro® AI Suite, which harnesses Microsoft’s cloud and AI services to deliver scalable, secure, and industry-ready solutions. These offerings are designed to address the “last-mile” challenge many organizations face—moving AI from pilots to enterprise-wide adoption while maintaining governance, trust, and performance.

Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant, emphasized that AI now underpins every major transformation program. He noted that by aligning the partnership with Cognizant’s three-vector AI builder strategy, the companies will co-create scalable solutions, co-sell globally, and jointly deliver outcomes that matter most to clients.

Building an AI-Fluent Workforce and Industry-Specific Innovation

Beyond client solutions, Cognizant will significantly scale the adoption of Microsoft 365 Copilot and GitHub Copilot across its consulting and delivery teams. The company will also upskill its workforce on Microsoft Azure, Azure AI Foundry, and related technologies, creating an agile, AI-fluent talent base equipped to lead next-generation transformations.

The partnership will further leverage Cognizant’s proprietary platforms—such as TriZetto, Skygrade, and FlowSource™—to deliver sector-specific innovation and modernize software engineering at scale.

Judson Althoff, CEO of Microsoft’s commercial business, highlighted Cognizant’s ability to combine deep industry expertise with bold innovation, positioning the partnership to unlock transformative value for enterprises worldwide.

Together, Cognizant and Microsoft aim to help organizations embed AI into their workflows—turning intelligence into a sustained competitive advantage.
