SPIC Appoints Shankar Ganesh Rajan as Chief Human Resources Officer

Chennai, February 2026 — Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation Limited (SPIC) has appointed Shankar Ganesh Rajan as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective February 2026. He will be based at the company’s headquarters in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

In his new role, Rajan will lead the entire gamut of SPIC’s people and culture agenda, overseeing talent management, leadership development, organisational effectiveness, and workforce strategy.

Extensive Experience

Shankar Ganesh Rajan brings over three decades of rich and diverse experience in HR, including 8 years in production, across leading manufacturing and industrial organisations.

He joins SPIC from Sundaram Clayton, where he served as General Manager – Human Resources. During his tenure, he played a key role in driving HR transformation initiatives and enhancing employee engagement practices.

Over the years, Rajan has held senior HR leadership positions at Harita Seating Systems, Harita NTI, and SRF. He has built a strong track record in talent development, organisational development, industrial relations, and workforce planning, aligning HR strategies with long-term business objectives.

He completed an Executive Development Program in Human Resources Management and Services from XLRI Jamshedpur during 2019–2020.

Additionally, he holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) in Human Resources Development from Symbiosis Centre (2005–2007).
