Barclays Appoints Shilpa Shah as MD – Talent Acquisition & Skills
Barclays, a British universal bank has named Shilpa Shah as Managing Director – Talent Acquisition & Skills.
Based in London, Shilpa will lead global hiring, skills development, and workforce planning. At Barclays, she will help shape hiring plans, build leadership pipelines, and align skills with the bank’s digital and business needs.
Extensive Experience
Shilpa joins from Standard Chartered Bank, where she worked as Managing Director, Global Resourcing & Talent Deployment from October 2022 to February 2026. In that role, she handled workforce planning, senior hiring, employer brand, and skills programs, with a growing focus on using AI in hiring.
With more than 25 years of experience, Shilpa brings strong knowledge in global hiring and HR change. Before Standard Chartered, she was Director – Global Talent Acquisition & Candidate Experience at GE HealthCare, where she improved hiring processes and candidate experience worldwide. She also held senior roles at Rolls-Royce, including HR Director – Talent Management & Acquisition and Global Head of Talent Acquisition.
Earlier, she worked as Global Talent Acquisition Director at Aviva and held several leadership roles at General Electric and its financial services unit. She started her career in recruitment and talent consulting, including time at Channel 4.
She earned a BA (Hons) in Business Studies & Marketing from London South Bank University between 1994 and 1996.
