Reliance Jio has clinched a world record for workplace wellness, successfully bringing together a monumental 52,913 employees for the world’s largest online corporate yoga event conducted by a single organization.

The massive virtual session was held in collaboration with wellness partner Habuild and has been officially recognized by the World Records Union.

This recognition sets a new benchmark for employee engagement and health initiatives across the corporate world.

Wellness as a Core Cultural Pillar

This historic achievement reinforces Reliance’s long-standing commitment to embedding employee wellbeing at the center of its corporate culture.

Over the past year, the organization has aggressively championed initiatives focused on mental health support and workplace flexibility.

It has done this to drive sustainable productivity through holistic well-being.

The sheer scale of the yoga event underscores the company’s belief.

This belief is that consistent, accessible wellness practices are critical to employee performance and overall satisfaction.

Rahul Mukherjee, CHRO, Jio, emphasized the strategic intent behind the record-setting event.

“For us at Reliance, this initiative was never just about an event, it was about strengthening wellbeing at work,” Rahul stated.

He highlighted the direct correlation between employee health and productivity, noting that when staff feel “healthier, mentally centered and emotionally supported, their overall wellbeing, productivity, focus and creativity naturally rise.”

He added that the world record is a “reflection of our belief that wellness is a fundamental part of a thriving workplace.”

Jio and Habuild Partner: Technology Enables Wellness at Scale

The success of the event was largely facilitated by technology.

This demonstrates how virtual platforms can make wellness programs universally accessible, even in organizations with tens of thousands of employees spread across various locations.

The session itself featured simple movement, breathwork, and mindfulness techniques.

Habuild specifically designed these to fit seamlessly into busy workdays while still delivering a meaningful impact.

Saurabh Bothra, Habuild Co-founder and Yoga Teacher, commented on the significance of prioritizing employee health.

Saurabh stressed that “Wellness at work isn’t a luxury anymore; it’s a basic need.”

He encouraged even short, consistent practices, emphasizing that minimal daily movement can create a significant positive shift in energy and focus.

This shift ultimately benefits teamwork and clarity.

By orchestrating this massive, successful digital event, Jio has not only secured a world record.

It has also provided a compelling model for large Indian corporations seeking to prioritize the health, happiness, and long-term productivity of their vast workforces.
