JSW Motors Partners with Tata IIS to Create India’s First End-to-End EV Talent Pipeline

JSW Motors announced a strategic partnership with the Tata Indian Institute of Skills (Tata IIS) on February 26, 2026.
The collaboration aims to build a high-tech talent pipeline for JSW’s upcoming greenfield manufacturing plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.
A Bespoke Curriculum for the EV Era
The core of the partnership is a co-developed, JSW-specific curriculum designed to produce a workforce that is “ready from day one.”
The training modules will cover critical advanced manufacturing domains, including:
- EV Systems Engineering and Battery Technology.
- Automation and Robotics for plant floor efficiency.
- Precision Operations such as CNC machining and specialized welding.
JSW Motors retains full hiring control and curriculum validation rights, ensuring that the training remains strictly aligned with its evolving production timelines and ramp-up requirements.
Skilling as a Business Imperative
Rupam Singh, Chief Human Resources Officer at JSW Motors, emphasized that for the company, skilling has moved beyond a traditional HR function to become a “business imperative.”
This collaboration acts as a “deliberate bridge” while JSW develops its own world-class training academy.
Tata IIS was selected following a competitive national evaluation for its industry-grade infrastructure.
The institute also stands out for its proven track record of working with major Original Equipment Manufacturers.
Venguswamy Ramaswamy, CEO Designate of Tata IIS, noted that the bespoke programs are designed to equip India’s youth with high-precision skills necessary for “the next generation of automotive excellence.”
JSW Motors Building an End-to-End Ecosystem
The vision for this talent pipeline extends far beyond the factory floor.
JSW Motors plans to expand this skilling ecosystem to include its supplier and vendor partners, dealer networks, and even end customers.
This holistic approach is intended to ensure that the entire value chain is “EV-ready” as the company prepares to scale its manufacturing operations.
JSW Motors is investing in human capital ahead of its plant commissioning to prioritize technical expertise.
This signals a strategic move to differentiate the company in India’s competitive electric mobility landscape.
