Hindustan Power Appoints Gopalji Mehrotra as CHRO

Hindustan Power has appointed Gopalji Mehrotra as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).
Based in the Greater Delhi Area, he will lead HR strategy, organizational change, and talent programs to support the company’s growth in energy and infrastructure. He will also focus on building leadership pipelines, improving employee experience, and driving a high-performance culture.
Extensive Experience
Gopalji brings more than 30 years of HR experience across sectors such as energy, manufacturing, pharma, IT, and consulting.
Before joining Hindustan Power, he was CHRO at ACME Group, where he led culture change and helped scale the workforce to support growth. He also led leadership programs, set up systems for new ideas, and rolled out digital HR tools. During this time, he oversaw the hiring of over 1,200 employees in a short period.
Earlier, he served as Head of Human Resources at HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited. There, he led major HR changes, improved succession planning, and strengthened employee engagement and diversity efforts. His work helped build a team ready for changes in the energy sector.
Over his career, he has held senior roles at Ashok Leyland, Mylan, Zensar Technologies, and Kennametal, where he handled global HR work, mergers, and organization design across regions.
He holds an MBA in Human Resources from XLRI Jamshedpur and has completed executive education in HR strategy from London Business School.
