Crocs India ropes in Marks & Spencer’s Mukta Nakra as Head- HR

Mukta Nakra joins Crocs India, the Indian subsidiary of the global footwear brand Crocs, as Head – Human Resources.

Prior to this, she served as Head- Human Resources and Sustainability at Marks & Spencer. In her new role, she will lead people and culture plans for the organization.

Sharing her excitement on LinkedIn, she wrote that her time at M&S gave her a solid footing, clear goals, and a work setting that allowed her to grow. She also thanked the colleagues and mentors who shaped her years at the company.

Nakra’s move ends a stretch of more than seven years with the Marks and Spencer Reliance India Ltd joint venture, where she led people strategy, culture programs, and work related to long-term social goals across retail, digital, and office teams.

Extensive Experience

Mukta brings nearly 25 years of work experience across Retail, IT/ITES and Financial Services. She has handled people strategy in global markets, including the US, UK, Australia, and Singapore.

Her work spans succession planning, growth planning, and major company-wide changes that link people with performance.

Before joining Marks & Spencer, she held senior HR roles at Wiley, American Express, and Walmart. Her background includes talent planning, leadership growth, succession work and culture-building across large teams.

Her shift to Crocs marks a new chapter focused on building strong teams and supporting the brand’s wider goals in India.

She earned an MBA from AIMA and later studied process and partnership methods at Harvard Business School to strengthen her skills.
