Mars Snacking has appointed Sonali Roychowdhury as Chief People and Organisation Officer for Asia, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA), strengthening its people leadership as the business enters a new phase of integration and growth.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Sonali described the role as a unique opportunity to bring together the iconic businesses of Kellanova and Mars. She highlighted the chance to build on deep-rooted values and complementary cultures, while learning alongside associates across AMEA to deliver on the region’s promise—underscoring the spirit of #BetterTogether.

In her new role, she will lead the People and Organisation agenda across AMEA, driving culture, leadership, talent, and integration priorities to support business growth, transformation, and long-term performance across diverse markets.

Extensive experience

Sonali is a globally seasoned People & Culture leader with over 25 years of experience across large, multinational organisations. Having lived and worked extensively across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, she brings a genuinely international perspective shaped by diverse cultures, complex operating environments, and periods of significant change.

Her career spans senior leadership roles at Procter & Gamble, Kellanova (formerly Kellogg Company), and Mars, where she has led organisational scale-ups, end-to-end M&A, and large-scale integrations—including the recent integration of Kellanova into Mars.

Her remit has covered culture and leadership alignment, workforce and operating model design, talent retention, governance, and change management, with a strong focus on value protection and creation during transitions.

An internationally fluent executive, Sonali combines commercial discipline with cultural intelligence and a human-centric leadership style. She is also an active investor and advisor to HR technology startups, bringing an external lens to digital HR transformation.

She holds a postgraduate degree in Human Resources from XLRI, executive coaching credentials from Teachers College, Columbia University, and is a graduate of the CHRO (Top Seat) Program at Cornell University ILR School.
