Subhashis Basu joins Britannia as CEO- Bel Foods & CBO- Dairy
Britannia Industries Limited appoints Subhashis Basu as Chief Executive Officer of Britannia Bel Foods Pvt Ltd and Chief Business Officer – Britannia Dairy.
Sharing the update on social media, Subhashis said, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as CEO – Britannia Bel Foods Pvt Ltd and CBO – Britannia Dairy at Britannia Industries Limited.”
His appointment comes at a time when Britannia continues to scale its presence beyond its core bakery portfolio, with dairy emerging as a key growth pillar and has resuffled its top leadership team.
Recently, Britannia Industries appointed Rakshit Hargave as CEO and MD from December 15, 2025, succeeding Varun Berry after 13 years.
Extensive Experience
Subhashis Basu brings with him nearly three decades of rich leadership experience across the Indian and international FMCG landscape. An astute, strategic, and results-oriented business leader, he has a proven track record of conceptualising, setting up, and managing profit centres, along with end-to-end responsibility for complete P&L ownership.
His expertise spans strategic planning, market entry and expansion, competitor and market analysis, and financial planning. Known for his proactive leadership style, Basu has consistently identified and built new business avenues while driving sustainable growth.
He is also recognised for his ability to build strong relationships with key industry stakeholders and for adapting quickly to new markets, product lines, and business environments.
In addition, Basu has contributed to industry bodies, serving as a Member of the FMCG Committee at FICCI (2011–2017) and as a Member of the Standing Committee for Marketing, Indian Chapter of the International Dairy Federation (IDF) (2012–2017).
Prior to joining Britannia, he was associated with the Lactalis Group as Chief Commercial Director – India. His earlier leadership stints include roles at Prataap Snacks Limited, Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt. Ltd., Tập đoàn Tân Hiệp Phát, PepsiCo, and Parle Products.
