JK Tyre Appoints Mandar V Deo as President – India

JK Tyre & Industries has announced the appointment of Mandar V Deo as President – India, effective April 14, 2026.

In his new role, Deo will lead the company’s India business operations and will report to the senior leadership team. Based in New Delhi, he will be responsible for enhancing operational efficiency, accelerating market expansion, and reinforcing the company’s leadership position in the Indian tyre industry.

Extensive Experience and Background

Deo joins JK Tyre from Exide Energy Solutions Ltd., where he served as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director since September 2022.

During his tenure, he led the launch of a new business focused on Advanced Chemistry Cells, including lithium-ion cells, battery modules, and packs for transportation and industrial applications, aligning with India’s push toward electrification and energy transition.

Prior to this, he held the role of Vice President – Power Systems and Integrated Supply Chain at Cummins India between 2021 and 2022. He also spent over 16 years with Cummins Inc. in various leadership positions across India and the United States.

His experience includes serving as Vice President – High Horsepower (HHP) India Business, where he led cross-functional teams spanning marketing, supply chain, manufacturing, finance, quality, engineering, and human resources.

Earlier roles included Director of Marketing in the U.S., Plant Manager, Quality Leader, and Technical Specialist.

Deo holds a PhD in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from Penn State University and an MBA from Indiana University – Kelley School of Business.
