Vodafone Idea gets Sugata Roy as Vice President– Circle HR Head

Vodafone Idea has appointed Sugata Roy as Vice President – Circle HR Head, entrusting him with leadership of the human resources agenda at the circle level.
Based in Bengaluru, he will be responsible for driving people strategy, enhancing workforce effectiveness, and ensuring business continuity across one of India’s largest telecom circles.
Extensive Experience
Sugata Roy is an accomplished HR leader with 13 years of experience across telecom, automotive, FMCG, retail, and logistics sectors. He brings deep expertise in Talent Management, Total Rewards, Learning & OD, HR Analytics, Leadership Coaching, and HR Digital Transformation.
Prior to joining Vodafone Idea, he was associated with Hero MotoCorp, where he most recently served as Lead HR Business Partner – Commercial Business and HR Digital Transformation, supporting HR strategy across India and global markets, including the Harley-Davidson portfolio, while driving enterprise-wide HR digital initiatives to create a frictionless employee experience.
His career highlights include supporting the scale-up of the Harley-Davidson business in India and leading large-scale HR digitization programs.
Earlier, he worked with VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (VECV) in HRBP and Talent Management COE roles, and began his career at TM International Logistics, along with stints at Madura Fashion & Lifestyle and Mother Dairy.
Sugata is a recipient of multiple accolades, including Economic Times HR Emerging Leader and Jombay 40under40 HR Leader, and is passionate about building future-ready organizations by integrating people, culture, and technology.
