Daimler Truck Innovation Center India Appoints Radhakrishnan Kodakkal as MD and CEO

Daimler Truck Innovation Center India (DTICI) has named Radhakrishnan Kodakkal as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

In this role, he will lead the company’s work in innovation, engineering, and digital technology from its Bengaluru office.

Extensive Experience

Kodakkal brings more than 30 years of international experience in engineering leadership, product development, and digital change across global technology and industrial companies.

Before joining DTICI, he worked at Whirlpool Corporation. Most recently, he served as Global Head of Integrated Technology. In that role, he led advanced development programs for connected appliances, product intelligence, and next-generation technology platforms. His teams worked across the United States, Italy, Brazil, and India.

Earlier at Whirlpool, he was Vice President and Head of the Global Technology and Engineering Center in Pune. He led one of the company’s largest technology hubs and worked on areas such as IoT, data science, AI/ML, digital simulation, Industry 4.0, cloud platforms, and mobile apps. He also guided the global embedded systems strategy across several product lines.

Before Whirlpool, Kodakkal spent almost 15 years at Philips in different global R&D leadership roles. These included Global R&D Leader for Diagnostic X-Ray and Chief Technology Officer for imaging businesses. During this time, he managed teams across Europe, India, China, and Brazil and helped move forward digital and AI-based healthcare imaging systems.

Earlier in his career, Kodakkal held engineering and leadership roles at ABB and at technology consulting firms in Europe.

Daimler Truck Innovation Center India (DTICI) is the global capability center of Daimler Truck based in Bengaluru. It supports the company’s engineering, digital technology, and research work for commercial vehicle development across global markets.

The center focuses on software development, data, vehicle engineering, and connected technology. It works closely with global teams to support innovation, product development, and digital solutions for trucks and mobility services.
