Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Appoints Pooja Hegde as OD Specialist

After serving the organization in several senior HR leadership positions for over 14 years, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited has elevated Pooja Hegde as Organizational Development Specialist.

In her new role, she will focus on strengthening organizational capability, driving leadership and talent development initiatives, and supporting strategic transformation across the company’s multi-brand operations.

She will also work on enhancing organizational design, performance frameworks, and culture-building initiatives to align people strategy with the group’s evolving business priorities in India.

Extensive Experience

Prior to this, Pooja was Head of Human Resources – Sales & Marketing, where she led the people strategy for the group’s five premium automotive brands in India — ŠKODA, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini.

In that role, she oversaw talent acquisition, leadership hiring, performance management systems, HR governance, and mobility processes while supporting the company’s expansion and organizational transformation.

During her tenure, she played a key role in strengthening workforce planning across brand portfolios, enhancing leadership hiring frameworks, and aligning performance evaluation systems across diverse teams.

She also contributed to improving HR operations through HRIS and SAP-based process enhancements, enabling greater efficiency and consistency in HR practices.

Earlier, as Deputy General Manager – Human Resources, Pooja worked as an HR Business Partner for Volkswagen and Group Aftersales, focusing on workforce capability building, manpower planning, and performance management frameworks.

Before joining the automotive sector, she held HR leadership roles at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, where she supported HR functions for multiple television channels. She also gained early career experience with Taj Hotels and Future Group.

Pooja holds an MBA in Human Resources from Chetana’s Institute of Management & Research and has completed a management development program in HR Business Partnering from XLRI Jamshedpur.
