Cargill Appoints Swaminathan Chandrashekhar as Director – HRBP

Cargill has appointed Swaminathan Chandrashekhar as Director – HR Business Partner and Head of Human Resources for its India Capability Center.

In this role, Chandrashekhar will lead the people and culture plan for the center. He will build strong HR partnerships, grow talent, and help the center support Cargill’s global businesses at scale.

In a LinkedIn post, Chandrashekhar said he is thankful for the chance to contribute to a company known for long-term responsibility and strong values. He shared that working with leaders across large teams and supporting complex, changing businesses fits well with his view on people leadership.

He added that he steps into the role with respect for the work already done and a clear focus on supporting both the business and its people with care, consistency, and purpose.

Extensive Experience

Chandrashekhar brings more than 16 years of experience across Business HR, Corporate HR, and Employee Relations. He has led large, company-wide programs and special projects across different business settings.

Before joining Cargill, he worked at Eli Lilly and Company as Director – Human Resources. There, he partnered closely with business leaders on people plans, team effectiveness, and workforce change efforts.

His career includes roles at global companies such as Infosys, Citigroup, and Eli Lilly and Company. He has also managed key site HR responsibilities at the Bangalore Development Centre, where he supported business growth and major change programs.

He holds a PGDM in HR from T.A. Pai Management Institute and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from SIES College of Commerce and Economics.
