Horizontal Talent Appoints Usha Chirayil as Sr. Director – People & Culture, APAC

Horizontal Talent has appointed Usha Chirayil as Senior Director – People & Culture for the APAC region.

In her new role, she will drive people strategy across the APAC region, strengthen organizational culture, and ensure talent initiatives are closely aligned with business objectives.

She will focus on workforce planning, leadership development, and employee engagement to support growth, enhance performance, and build a resilient, future-ready organization.

Extensive Experience

Usha Chirayil has nearly three decades of experience in human resources. She has worked with global companies and tech firms. Before this, she was Senior Director – Human Resources at Reflections Info Systems.

During her time there, she helped improve HR functions during a fast growth phase. She updated HR policies, brought in best practices, and led programs like “Reimagining Vision, Mission, and Values.” She also introduced AI-based tools to support employee engagement and culture change.

She also led training programs to build employee skills and improve business results. Under her leadership, the company received several awards, including Great Place to Work certification and recognition as a future-ready workplace.

Earlier in her career, Chirayil held senior roles at Samsung R&D Institute India. There, she managed HR strategy during the COVID-19 period and introduced diversity and inclusion programs.

She has also worked with KPMG, Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions, CGI, IBM India, and Infosys, where she handled HR change, talent management, and leadership programs.
