Infosys Limited has secured a landmark contract worth over $500 million from U.S.-based Truist Financial Corp.

The agreement involves establishing and managing a massive Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad.

This center is expected to create at least 4,500 new jobs over the next few years.

The Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Model

The project will be executed under a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) framework.

Under this five-year arrangement, Infosys will set up the infrastructure, hire the workforce, and manage daily operations before eventually handing over the entire facility to Truist Financial.

This deal is one of the largest GCC engagements for Infosys, marking a strategic deepening of its two-decade-long relationship with the North Carolina-based lender.

Truist, the seventh-largest bank in the United States by assets, aims to centralize its engineering and back-office operations through this hub.

Infosys Phased Hiring and AI Integration

The Hyderabad facility will not be limited to traditional IT support.

It is designed to be an “AI-first” hub, leveraging the Infosys Topaz platform to integrate generative AI across various workflows.

  • Initial Phase: Infosys plans to hire approximately 2,000 employees in the first year, focusing on senior leadership, software engineering, and data science roles.
  • Total Scale: The workforce is expected to expand to 4,500 seats as the center begins managing diverse functions, including finance, human resources, and sales operations.

Strengthening Hyderabad’s GCC Dominance

The deal further solidifies Hyderabad’s reputation as a premier destination for global banking hubs.

According to Nasscom, Hyderabad currently hosts over 355 GCCs, trailing only Bengaluru.

This new facility will provide high-value employment opportunities in the city’s HITEC City and financial district.

The contract is expected to generate roughly $100 million in annual revenue for Infosys.

This provides a significant buffer as the company navigates a volatile global spending environment.
