AICTE Opens Industry Fellowship 2026, Stipend ₹1,00,000/ Month

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the AICTE Industry Fellowship Programme (IFP) 2026, a new initiative designed to enhance faculty exposure to industry practices and bridge the gap between academic learning and evolving industrial requirements.

The programme was unveiled by Prof Yogesh Singh, Chairman of AICTE, along with Prof Shyama Rath. The fellowship aims to equip faculty members with practical industry experience, helping them bring current technologies, workplace practices, and innovation-driven approaches back into classrooms.

Applications for the programme are now open, and interested candidates can apply until June 25, 2026. The selected fellows will begin their one-year industry assignments on July 20, 2026.

One-Year Industry Exposure for Faculty Members

Under the fellowship, regular faculty members from AICTE-approved institutions will spend a year working with leading companies across various sectors.

The initiative seeks to improve industry-academia collaboration while enabling faculty to gain firsthand knowledge of emerging technologies, organisational practices, and future workforce requirements.

To support participants during the fellowship period, AICTE and industry partners will jointly provide financial assistance. Faculty members will receive:

  • AICTE stipend of ₹75,000 per month
  • Industry stipend of at least ₹25,000 per month
  • Continued salary and employment benefits from their parent institution

Several leading companies, including Tata Consumer Products, Hero MotoCorp, and Volvo, have partnered with AICTE for the 2026 edition, offering a total of 134 fellowship positions.

Focus on Emerging Technology Sectors

The fellowship opportunities are available across high-growth sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductors, Advanced Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, Smart Mobility, Space and Defence, Healthcare Technologies, and Agrotech.

Eligibility and Application Process

Applicants must be Indian citizens aged 50 years or below as of May 26, 2026, and should be regular full-time faculty members at AICTE-approved institutions. A minimum of five years of full-time teaching experience is mandatory.

In addition, candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Qualification in national or state-level examinations such as GATE, NET, JRF, SRF, GRE, CAT, or MAT
  • Publication of at least five research papers in Scopus or Web of Science-indexed journals
  • Experience in managing government-funded research projects worth ₹15 lakh or more
  • Recipient of a Young Scientist or similar academic excellence award

The selection process will include application screening, industry interviews, and final document verification. Applications must be submitted online through the official fellowship portal before the closing date.
