Cloud and AI Training Across India

The AI Skilling programme will provide 1.5 lakh learners with foundational AI and cloud literacy through AWS digital training content. A smaller group of 10,000 participants will receive intensive training through AWS re/Start, a free, cohort-based programme focused on cloud computing skills.

The initiative will be delivered fully online through Cultus Education, which has been selected by NSDC as the delivery partner. It will cover all states and Union Territories, with a focus on youth in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and underserved communities.

According to the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, the programme is intended to address gaps in access to technical training, employer connections and industry credentials among young people outside major technology centres.

  • 1.5 lakh learners will receive foundational AI and cloud training.
  • 10,000 participants will receive intensive training through AWS re/Start.
  • The programme will be delivered 100% online across all states and Union Territories.
  • The initiative will focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and underserved communities.

From Training to Certification and Employment Opportunities

Participants can begin with AWS digital training content and, based on readiness, progress to AWS re/Start. The intensive programme includes training in areas such as cloud infrastructure, networking, security, programming, relational databases and AI fundamentals, along with hands-on learning.

The government said graduates completing the required training will earn an AWS Certification, described as an industry-recognised credential for cloud computing skills. They will also receive access to qualified interview opportunities through connections with local employers.

AI Skilling programme will conclude with a National Hackathon, where participants can present cloud and AI solutions to hiring managers, industry leaders and other stakeholders.

For HR and business teams, the initiative could widen access to candidates with entry-level cloud computing, AI and digital skills beyond major technology hubs. However, the official announcement describes access to interview opportunities rather than guaranteed employment for participants.

Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary said that young people in Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns should have access to skills needed for emerging jobs as India expands its technology and talent base.
