Apollo Tyres Appoints Omar Bali as Group Head – HR

Apollo Tyres has appointed Omar Bali as Group Head – HR, adding an experienced human resources leader to its senior people leadership team in India.

Sharing the update, Omar Bali said on LinkedIn, “I recently joined Apollo Tyres Ltd as Group Head – HR leading Talent, Learning & HR Business Leadership — driving the Talent, Learning and Leadership agenda for the organization, and partnering as HR Business Leader for Enabling Functions, based in India.”

Extensive Experience

With more than 20 years of HR experience, Omar joins Apollo Tyres after over 10 years at Signify and Philips Lighting.

He most recently served as Global Head – Talent & DE&I at Signify, leading talent strategy across more than 70 countries. His work covered skills-based workforce planning, leadership development, succession planning, organisational change and learning programmes.

Before this, he was Head HR – Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Pakistan, supporting HR across more than 25 markets. Earlier, he was Director HR at Philips Lighting, supporting B2B and OEM businesses.

Earlier, he was Head – Business HR at Micromax Informatics, handling HR for sales, service and international operations. He spent more than four years at Whirlpool Corporation in HR roles covering business partnering, learning, employee engagement, talent acquisition and performance management.

Before Whirlpool, he held HR roles at Marico across sales, manufacturing and supply chain. He began his HR career at GSK Consumer Healthcare India, progressing from Management Trainee to Deputy Manager – HR. He completed a summer internship with Mahindra.

He holds an MBA in HR from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development and a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University.
