Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has temporarily asked employees working from its Delhi campus at the PTI Building to report to its Noida or Gurugram offices on July 23 and 24, following disruptions caused by ongoing protests in central Delhi.

According to an internal advisory, TCS implemented contingency measures to ensure employee safety and business continuity amid CJP-led student protests near Central Delhi and Jantar Mantar over the alleged NEET paper leak.

Employees who are unable to commute to either the Noida or Gurugram campuses have been permitted to apply for a Work From Office (WFO) exception under the “Calamity Exigency” category, allowing the company to accommodate genuine travel constraints while continuing client delivery.

Temporary Measure, Not a Policy Shift

The advisory is a short-term operational arrangement and does not indicate any change in TCS’ workplace strategy.

The company continues to follow its five-day work-from-office policy, with exceptions granted only under specific circumstances such as emergencies or unforeseen events.

It’s the company’s business continuity planning, enabling employees to work from alternate offices within the National Capital Region while minimizing disruption to client services.

Focus on Employee Safety and Business Continuity

With major delivery centres in Noida and Gurugram, TCS has leveraged its NCR office network to ensure seamless operations despite local disruptions in central Delhi.

The move highlights how large enterprises are increasingly relying on contingency workplace strategies to safeguard employees and sustain productivity during civic or public disruptions.

The company has not issued an official public statement on the advisory. However, the temporary arrangement underscores the importance of operational flexibility in responding to unforeseen situations while maintaining service commitments.
