Google Opens Summer 2027 Application Engineering Internship

Google has opened applications for its Application Engineering Intern, Summer 2027 programme in Bengaluru. Google Summer Internship is open to students expected to graduate in 2028, with applications closing on September 15, 2026.

The selected candidates will undertake a 10–12-week full-time internship starting in May or June 2027. Candidates must reside in India throughout the programme and should be proficient in English to participate in technical discussions.

Who can apply?

The internship is aimed at students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in technology-related disciplines. Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language.
• Fluency in English for technical discussions.
• Expected graduation in 2028.
• Availability to work full-time for 10–12 weeks outside the university term.

Google has listed experience in Java, Python or C++ as preferred. Familiarity with systems software, algorithms, SQL, Spring, API development, REST or SOAP web services, JavaScript or TypeScript can also be useful for the role.

What will interns work on?

The Application Engineering Intern will work on Google’s internal business applications. The role includes developing, deploying and supporting software, along with integrating third-party products with internal systems.

Interns may work on both front-end and back-end solutions designed to automate business processes. They will also work with analysts and internal teams to understand business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
