Around 100 positions have been eliminated from the Vision Pro organisation, while another 100 roles have been affected across Siri and software teams.
The restructuring also includes Apple’s Intelligent Systems Experience team, which works on AI-powered features across its devices.
Vision Pro Teams Restructured
The changes include largely shutting down a Vision Pro team focused on gaming and reducing the size of the unit responsible for producing immersive video content.

Apple is continuing work on Vision Pro and its visionOS operating system, but is redirecting resources towards other products and future devices.
Apple’s near-term focus is reportedly shifting towards smart glasses, while the company is still considering a future Vision Pro model. Bloomberg reports that a new Vision Pro could arrive as early as the end of 2028.
Siri and AI Restructuring
The Siri-related changes are linked to Apple’s work on a new AI-focused version of the assistant built on a redesigned technical architecture.
The shift requires different technical expertise, resulting in the elimination of some existing roles, while new positions are also expected to be created.

Apple said it is realigning teams “to evolve our business to deliver the best experiences for our users.” The company added that while new roles would be created, a limited number of existing roles would also be affected.
Severance and India Impact
Apple has not publicly disclosed details of a severance package for employees affected by this restructuring. The company has said it will support affected employees during the transition, including opportunities to apply for other roles within Apple.
The reports currently available also do not specify whether India-based employees are among those affected. Therefore, there is no confirmed India-specific impact from this round of cuts.
Final Comments
The restructuring reflects Apple’s changing priorities as it invests more heavily in AI and new device categories.
While the company continues to support Vision Pro and Siri, the latest workforce changes indicate a shift in resources towards areas where Apple expects stronger future opportunities.
