The incident came to light after CCTV footage, reportedly recorded inside the daycare, surfaced online and was shared with parents, leading to police complaints and an investigation.
The videos allegedly showed caregivers physically assaulting young children and subjecting them to acts of cruelty. According to reports, the CCTV footage captured children being physically punished and mistreated while under the care of the facility.
The incident has raised concerns among employees and parents over the safety and supervision of children at workplace daycare centres.

Karnataka Police Registered Case
Following the complaints, the Karnataka Police registered a case against five daycare workers at the on-campus crèche of Capgemini Technology Services India Limited following allegations that employees’ children were subjected to physical assault, intimidation and cruelty, according to Karnataka Police.
The daycare workers have been accused of subjecting children to inhuman treatment, including locking them inside bathrooms, placing them inside a front-loading washing machine, and spraying water into their mouths using a toilet jet.

Capgemini also said it is extending support to the affected families and will continue to assist the authorities as the investigation progresses.
The company clarified that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness and that appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
Workplace Childcare Under Scrutiny
The incident has once again drawn attention to safety standards at corporate daycare centres. Many large organisations provide childcare facilities on their campuses to support working parents, with operations often managed by third-party service providers.
The case has raised questions about the monitoring of daycare staff, background verification, CCTV surveillance, grievance mechanisms, and oversight of outsourced childcare services.
Industry experts say companies may need to strengthen governance measures and conduct regular audits to ensure that workplace daycare centres meet safety and care standards.
The police investigation is continuing, and further action will depend on the findings of the inquiry. The case is expected to prompt wider discussions on accountability and child safety in employer-supported childcare facilities across the country.
