Infosys to Roll Out Salary Hikes from October, Hire 20,000 Freshers

Infosys will begin rolling out salary hikes for employees from October 2026, with the increment cycle spread across three phases ending in January 2027, CEO Salil Parekh said during the company’s Q1 FY27 earnings press conference.

The company did not disclose the percentage of salary increases. Parekh said most employees will receive their revised salaries in October, while senior employees will get their increments in January.

Salary Hikes in Three Phases

Infosys said the salary revision exercise will be carried out in three phases to cover different employee groups. The rollout will begin in October, while pay revisions for senior employees will be rolled out in January.

The announcement came alongside the company’s first-quarter FY27 financial results. Infosys had rolled out annual salary hikes of 6-8 per cent for employees in India in 2025.

Infosys to Hire 20,000 Freshers

Reaffirming its focus on campus hiring, Infosys said it plans to recruit 20,000 freshers during FY27. The company has already onboarded more than 4,000 freshers during the April-June quarter.

The move reflects the company’s continued investment in building entry-level talent despite a cautious demand environment.

Attrition at 13%, AI Revenue Contribution Grows

Infosys’ voluntary attrition in its IT services business rose slightly to 13% over the last 12 months, compared with 12.6% in the previous quarter.

The company’s total headcount stood at 3,28,062 as of June 30, 2026, marginally down by 553 employees from 3,28,594 at the end of March.

Artificial intelligence continued to gain momentum, with AI-related services contributing 8.2% of total revenue during the quarter, up from 5.5% in the December quarter.

Infosys also reported large deal wins worth $3.6 billion, compared with $3.2 billion in the previous quarter.

CEO Transition Announced

Along with its quarterly results, Infosys announced that Ashiss Kumar Dash has been appointed as CEO-designate. He will take over as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer from April 1, 2027, after the completion of Salil Parekh’s current term on March 31, 2027.

Sharing his excitement, Ashiss Kumar Dash, CEO-Designate of Infosys, said he is honoured by the Board’s trust and grateful to Salil Parekh for his mentorship.

He said Infosys is well positioned to lead the AI-driven future and pledged to accelerate innovation, strengthen client partnerships, and create long-term value for customers, employees and shareholders.
