The Nashik city police on Thursday, May 7, 2026, arrested absconding suspended BPO staffer Nida Khan, one of the accused in the high-profile TCS-linked BPO case, from Sambhajinagar city after a 42-day search operation.

Confirming the development, Nashik Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik and Assistant Police Commissioner Sandeep Mitke said the arrest was carried out through a coordinated operation between the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Nashik city police and the Sambhajinagar city police.

“The SIT of Nashik city police and the Sambhajinagar city police jointly launched the operation to nab Nida,” Karnik said.

Police sources stated that Nida Khan will be brought to Nashik and produced before a local court on Friday. The SIT, headed by Mitke, had intensified efforts to trace her soon after an FIR was registered against her on March 26 for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

According to police officials, multiple SIT teams were deployed across Mumbai and adjoining regions during the investigation, but Nida allegedly continued to evade arrest for several weeks. As part of the probe, investigators had also questioned her husband regarding her whereabouts.

Nida Khan is among the eight accused named in the TCS-linked BPO case that has drawn significant public attention in Maharashtra. In this case, nine women employees have accused eight of their co-workers of alleged sexual exploitation and religious coercion.

While seven of the accused had already been arrested earlier by the SIT, Nida remained absconding until Thursday’s operation in Sambhajinagar.

This IT giant, TCS case continues to be investigated by the Nashik city police, with officials indicating that further legal proceedings and interrogation are expected following Nida’s custody transfer to Nashik.
