The internship is designed to provide real-world learning experiences while helping students understand the functioning of India’s largest public sector bank.

Unlike SBI’s regular recruitment drives, the Summer Internship Programme does not follow a single nationwide application process.

Instead, internship opportunities are offered through campus collaborations, the bank’s Learning and Development (L&D) departments, and various SBI offices across the country.

The programme is primarily meant for students whose academic curriculum requires mandatory industry training.

Who Can Apply?

Students enrolled in full-time courses at institutions recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or the University Grants Commission (UGC) are eligible to apply.

Stipend and non-stipend category depend upon the list of institutes identified by the concerned circles as circles are authorized to identify the institute under stipend category.

However, the internship must be a compulsory part of their academic programme and require training at an external organisation.

Candidates may be selected either through campus recruitment conducted by their educational institution or directly by the relevant SBI office. The bank reserves the right to accept or reject any application based on its requirements.

Documents Required

Applicants are generally required to submit the following documents:

  • Internship application form
  • Updated resume
  • Letter from the educational institution confirming the mandatory internship requirement
  • Valid Know Your Customer (KYC) documents

Selection Process

The selection process for the SBI Summer Internship 2026 primarily consists of a face-to-face interview. Depending on the internship requirement, shortlisted candidates may also be asked to participate in a group discussion.

Internship recruitment at SBI Circle Offices is managed by the bank’s Learning and Development (L&D) department, while applications for internships at Corporate Centres are handled by the respective Human Resources (HR) or Administration departments.

Students interested in applying should contact the L&D department at the Local Head Office (LHO) of the respective SBI Circle or approach the relevant SBI office for further details on the application process.
