DRDO RCI-Hyd Announces 195 Apprenticeship Vacancies for 2027

Research Centre Imarat (RCI), a premier laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has invited online applications from eligible Indian nationals for 195 apprenticeship vacancies for 2027.

The one-year apprenticeship programme is open to Graduate, Technician (Diploma) and ITI Trade candidates.
RCI is part of the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex and is located in Hyderabad. The notified vacancies include
- 50 Graduate Apprentices
- 30 Technician Apprentices
- 115 Trade Apprentices.
The notification states that the number of vacancies may vary.

DRDO Apprenticeship 2027: Eligibility
For Graduate Apprentices, candidates with B.E./B.Tech qualifications in disciplines including Electronics and Communication Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical, Safety, Aeronautical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering can apply.
The Technician Apprentice category is open to Diploma holders in ECE, Instrumentation Engineering, EEE, CSE, Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical and Safety Engineering.
For Trade Apprentices, ITI candidates from trades including Fitter, Welder, Turner, Machinist, Mechanic-Diesel, Electronic-Mechanic, Electrician, COPA, Draughtsman Engineering (Mechanical) and Grinder can apply.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old as on September 1, 2026.

Regular candidates who completed their qualifying Graduate, Diploma or ITI Trade examinations in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 must have secured at least 70% marks or a CGPA of 7.5 or above.
Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training are not eligible. Those with more than one year of work experience or higher qualifications are also not eligible.
Stipend and Selection Process
The selected apprentices will receive a stipend as per Government of India norms. The notification does not mention a specific monthly stipend amount.
For Graduate and Technician Apprentices, an Aadhaar-seeded bank account is mandatory to receive the applicable 50% stipend contribution from the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) through the Direct Benefit Transfer scheme.
Selection will be based on academic merit and interview, wherever required, followed by document verification. Shortlisted candidates will be informed through the email address provided in their application.
Deadline and How to Apply
The last date to submit the online application is 30 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in the newspaper. Candidates should therefore check the newspaper publication date before calculating the deadline.
B.E./B.Tech and Diploma candidates must register on the NATS 2.0 portal and apply for Research Centre Imarat, DRDO using Enrolment ID: STLRAC000010.

The apprenticeship training will be for one year. Completion of the training does not guarantee employment with RCI or DRDO. Candidates should carefully check the detailed notification and eligibility requirements before applying.
