Application Process and Stipend

Interested candidates can apply online through the official Digital India Internship portal. Applicants must submit a recommendation letter from their educational institution, academic records and a Statement of Purpose of 100–250 words.

Candidates can select a maximum of two areas of interest. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee.

The internship will be conducted at NIC headquarters in New Delhi and various NIC State Centres. Each intern will work under the guidance of a technical supervisor or mentor. Candidates will have to make their own accommodation arrangements.

According to the official guidelines, the internship can be extended by up to one month, depending on the candidate’s performance, NIC’s requirements and availability.

The stipend will be paid after completion of the internship and acceptance of the project report by NIC. Eligible interns will receive a completion certificate.

NIC has clarified that the internship does not constitute employment or guarantee a job with the organisation.
