Mahindra Insurance Brokers Appoints Jyotirmoy Bhattacharya as Head-HR

Mahindra Insurance Brokers Limited has appointed Jyotirmoy Bhattacharya as Head-HR, moving him internally from Mahindra Finance, effective from Aug 2026.

In his new role, Jyotirmoy will be responsible for HR development and people-related initiatives at the insurance broking company. He will work with business teams on HR practices, employee engagement and organisational requirements.

Extensive Experience

Jyotirmoy brings more than 24 years of experience in human resources across financial services and other sectors. Before joining Mahindra Insurance Brokers, he spent over 21 years with Mahindra Finance, where he held several HR leadership positions.

His recent responsibilities included leading HR for the Wheels business and receivables, while also serving as Country Group Head and Lead for Employee Engagement. In these roles, he worked across business lines in India and handled HR re-engineering initiatives and employee engagement programmes.

Earlier, he was Business HR Head for more than four years, partnering with business teams on HR processes, policies, workforce productivity and people-related interventions. He also developed early warning systems for attrition and productivity management.

Before that, he served as Country Head-Human Resources for nearly five years, managing HR operations across the country, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee lifecycle, CSR and organisational development initiatives.

He also worked on organisational restructuring and graduate internship programmes.

His earlier Mahindra Finance experience included more than eight years as Zonal Head-Human Resources in Kolkata, covering HR activities across eastern and northeastern states.

He began his career with Sahara India as Manager-HR, where he handled talent acquisition and talent management activities for the Chairman’s Office.

Jyotirmoy is a graduate and postgraduate from the University of Allahabad. He has also completed a Human Resource Leadership Programme from Cornell University ILR School.
