Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Appoints Sitaram Kandi as CHRO

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited has announced a key leadership transition in its senior management team.

The company’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Anjali Byce, will step down from her role effective June 30, 2026, while Sitaram Kandi will assume charge as the new CHRO from July 1, 2026.

The development was announced in a regulatory filing dated May 14, 2026. The company stated that the Board approved the transition based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

According to the filing, Anjali has decided to move on from the organisation to pursue opportunities outside the company.

In her resignation letter addressed to CEO and Managing Director Shailesh Chandra, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the company’s people and culture agenda and thanked the leadership team and colleagues for their support throughout her tenure.

Sitaram Kandi to Take Charge as CHRO

Sitaram Kandi brings more than three decades of experience in human resources and industrial relations across organisations such as General Electric, Monsanto, TE Connectivity, and Bosch.

Prior to this elevation, he was working as Vice President – HR for Tata Motors passenger and electric vehicle businesses, along with industrial relations and skill development functions. Kandi joined Tata Motors in 2019 after working with several global organisations in India and overseas.

Academically, Sitaram Kandi studied mathematics, economics and statistics at Osmania University and earned a master’s degree in labour laws and labour welfare from Symbiosis International University.

He has also completed a business analytics programme at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
