According to its Annual Report 2025-26, the market regulator has rolled out AI-powered assistive technology for visually impaired employees, enhanced retirement benefits, improved housing loan schemes and expanded childcare support.

AI-Powered Accessibility for Employees

One of the key initiatives is the introduction of Meta Ray-Ban AI smart glasses for employees with benchmark disabilities in the visually impaired category.

The AI-enabled wearable is designed to help employees perform workplace tasks more independently by providing real-time assistance, reinforcing SEBI’s commitment to creating a more inclusive workplace.

The regulator has also continued to invest in employee learning and development. During the financial year, SEBI sponsored 1,384 nominations for domestic training programmes covering functional, behavioural and technology-related skills.

In addition, it organised wellness initiatives such as CPR demonstrations, yoga sessions, nutrition awareness workshops and employee engagement programmes for employees and their families.

Higher NPS Benefits and Easier Housing Loans

To strengthen retirement benefits, SEBI has increased its contribution to the National Pension System (NPS) from 12% to 14% of employees’ pay for Tier-I accounts, bringing it in line with the Central Government’s contribution framework.

The regulator has also revised its housing loan policy by increasing loan eligibility limits, reducing interest rates and allowing employees to take housing loans for a second residential property.

It has relaxed credit score requirements and monthly deduction limits, making the scheme more flexible and accessible.

In addition, SEBI has raised limits under its personal advance scheme for expenses such as children’s education, motor vehicle purchases, consumer durables and other personal requirements.

It has also increased the lease rental ceiling for officers posted in Mumbai while easing eligibility conditions under the leased accommodation scheme.

Focus on Families and Employee Well-being

SEBI has further strengthened its family-friendly policies by extending the Leave Fare Concession (LFC) scheme for air travel to all Grade ‘A’ employees.

To support working parents, it has expanded access to crèche facilities and allows women employees returning from maternity leave to work from home for up to 90 days, subject to prescribed conditions.

The latest initiatives highlight SEBI’s broader approach to employee welfare by combining technology, financial benefits, learning opportunities and workplace flexibility.

As organisations increasingly focus on employee experience, SEBI’s measures demonstrate how public sector institutions are also adopting inclusive and employee-centric policies to build a supportive work environment.
