HCLTech has launched an AI-powered nano Global Capability Centre (GCC) offering in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), aimed at helping enterprises move artificial intelligence (AI) projects from pilot stages to business operations through smaller, focused teams.

Announced on October 28, 2026, the offering is part of HCLTech’s GCC 360 solution suite. It combines the company’s GCC advisory services and AI platforms, including AI Force, with AWS cloud infrastructure and AI services.
Nano GCC Model Targets Two Types of Enterprises
The model is designed for companies with existing GCCs that want to introduce AI-led operations, as well as mid-market enterprises looking to establish operations in a new geography without making a large initial investment.
For existing GCCs, HCLTech plans to use a hub-and-spoke model anchored at its Lucknow campus. This approach will allow companies to develop AI capabilities alongside their existing operations without major disruption.

Mid-market enterprises can begin with specific AI projects, assess the results and gradually expand their operations. This allows them to test business use cases before committing to a larger setup.
Unlike traditional GCCs that often cover a broad range of business activities, the nano GCC model uses smaller, product-focused teams and AI-enabled workflows.
Focus on AI Engineering and IT Operations
The offering covers AI-native engineering, autonomous IT operations, advanced data and analytics, and intelligent business operations. It also includes responsible AI governance.

HCLTech will design and implement the operating model, while AWS will provide cloud infrastructure, joint go-to-market support and access to AI and developer services, including Amazon Bedrock, Kiro and AWS Transform.
Kiran Cherukuri, Executive Vice President and Global GCC Practice Leader at HCLTech, said GCCs were moving beyond their traditional focus on cost and talent towards building enterprise AI capabilities.
Prabhakar Appana, Senior Vice President and Global Head of the AWS Ecosystem Business Unit at HCLTech, said the model would allow companies to start with specific use cases, demonstrate business value and expand as their requirements change.
Asia Pacific to Be the First Rollout Region
HCLTech will initially roll out the offering across the Asia Pacific region. Its India-based delivery operations and Centre of Excellence in Lucknow will support implementation.
The launch comes as enterprises look for ways to move AI projects beyond experimentation and integrate them into business operations.
The nano GCC model offers an alternative for companies seeking to build specialised AI capabilities through smaller teams and phased implementation.
HCLTech has not announced specific customer deployments, pricing or revenue targets for the offering.
Final Comments
The nano GCC model offers companies an option to build AI-focused operations without establishing a large centre at the outset. Its success will depend on how effectively enterprises can move AI projects into production and demonstrate measurable business results.
