Employees at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) are still waiting for clarity on the company’s FY27 promotion cycle after the IT major informed staff that no decision has yet been made on the promotion timeline.

The update was shared during a recent company town hall, where management said discussions on promotions are ongoing but did not announce a timeline.
No Timeline for Promotions Yet
Responding to employee questions, the management said promotions remain an important priority, but the company is still reviewing the process before making an announcement.

According to employees, the company’s last major promotion round was in FY25, when around 110,000 employees were promoted based on merit, but salary hikes were deferred due to weak business conditions.
TCS later rolled out annual salary hikes in May 2026, but employees say they are still waiting for clarity on the FY27 promotion cycle.
AI-Focused Wings Program to Return
Along with the promotion update, TCS announced that it is relaunching its internal learning and career development platform, Wings, with a stronger focus on artificial intelligence and future-ready skills.
The updated program will include:

- More focus on AI and emerging technologies
- A revised assessment process
- Learning opportunities through external partners
- Better alignment with business needs and future roles
The company had paused Wings assessments earlier this year while redesigning the program. Wings helps employees build new skills, prepare for digital roles, and support their career growth within the company.
Part of a Larger Transformation
The update comes as TCS continues to reshape its business to meet changing technology demands. The company has recently introduced new business units focused on AI-driven operations and made leadership changes across several verticals.
While the revamped Wings program highlights TCS’s investment in employee learning and AI capabilities, many employees are now looking forward to a clear announcement on the FY27 promotion cycle.
Until then, career progression remains one of the key concerns across the workforce.
