Schneider Electric has launched Yuva Yodha, a national technology hackathon aimed at empowering young innovators to develop practical solutions for India’s evolving energy and sustainability challenges.

The initiative seeks to enable the next generation of problem-solvers, innovators and technology leaders to work on real-world challenges while gaining exposure to industry experts, mentorship and the broader innovation ecosystem.
Yuva Yodha is open to Indian citizens or residents aged 18 and above who are enrolled as full-time students in India, including undergraduate, postgraduate and STEM programmes. Participants can compete individually or in teams of up to four members.
Four Key Challenge Areas
The hackathon will focus on four areas that are critical to India’s growth and energy transition:

- Sustainable Agriculture
- Smart Buildings
- Grid Reliability & Renewable Intermittency
- Smart Manufacturing
Participants will be encouraged to develop practical and scalable solutions addressing areas such as energy and water efficiency, occupant experience, grid resilience, industrial productivity and sustainability. The programme will focus on opportunities enabled by energy technology, digitalisation and automation.
Commenting on the launch, Deepak Sharma, Zone President, Greater India, Managing Director and CEO, Schneider Electric India, said India is at the intersection of rapid economic growth, digital transformation and an unprecedented energy transition.
He said achieving the vision of a developed and sustainable India will require bold ideas, technological innovation and a new generation of problem-solvers. Through Yuva Yodha, Schneider Electric aims to provide young innovators with a platform to work on real-world challenges and turn ideas into solutions that can contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future.
With the theme “Let Your Big Idea Shape the Future of Energy Tech,” the hackathon aims to encourage students to develop solutions aligned with India’s sustainability and development priorities.

Niharika Mohan, CHRO, Schneider Electric India, said empowering young Indians to address tomorrow’s energy challenges is central to the company’s business and people strategy.
She added that Yuva Yodha is designed to nurture curiosity, creativity and bold thinking among young people while recognising the innovators who will contribute to India’s energy future.
Prizes and Funding Opportunities
Participants will have opportunities to receive industry insights, mentorship and guidance from Schneider Electric experts and present their ideas to leaders from the company and the wider innovation ecosystem.
The winning teams will receive:
- Grand Prize: ₹20 lakh
- Runner-up Prize: ₹15 lakh
- Second Runner-up Prize: ₹10 lakh
In addition, the top 10 teams will get an opportunity to present their ideas to Schneider Electric’s leadership and stand a chance to receive funding support from Schneider Electric Ventures.
Through Yuva Yodha, Schneider Electric aims to strengthen India’s innovation ecosystem by connecting student talent with real-world industry challenges and encouraging solutions that can contribute to a more sustainable, resilient and energy-efficient future.
