The expansion has made the Malanpur site home to what the company describes as Asia’s largest integrated soap manufacturing facility.
The new unit takes GCPL’s total investment at the Malanpur manufacturing site to more than ₹850 crore.
The company has been operating at Malanpur since 1991, and the facility has grown into an important manufacturing base for its personal and home care products.

The expansion has increased the site’s total soap manufacturing capacity to more than 2 lakh metric tonnes per annum.
The production lines can manufacture up to 4,000 soap bars every minute, making the facility one of the largest soap manufacturing operations in the region.
The Malanpur site manufactures products across several categories, including soaps, hair colours, household insecticides and air care.
Products and brands associated with the facility include Cinthol, Godrej No.1, GoodKnight, Godrej Aer and Godrej Expert Hair Colour.

The new manufacturing unit has been developed with a focus on automation and digitisation. According to GCPL, its high-speed production lines operate at nearly three times the speed of the company’s existing lines.
This is expected to improve production efficiency while helping the company meet growing demand across its product categories.
₹3,800 Crore Turnover Expected
GCPL expects the new expansion to generate a turnover of around ₹3,800 crore once the facility becomes fully operational.
The company has positioned the investment as part of its broader effort to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and improve operational efficiency.
The facility also has a focus on environmental responsibility and has been designed in line with Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) guidelines. The expansion is expected to support economic activity and employment in the Malanpur region.
The inauguration marks another major investment by GCPL in Madhya Pradesh and strengthens Malanpur’s role in the company’s manufacturing network.
With four manufacturing units at the location, the site will play a larger role in producing some of GCPL’s key personal and home care products for the Indian market and beyond.
Employment Generation
The expansion is also expected to support employment generation in the Malanpur region, with GCPL continuing its focus on local talent and greater participation of women in manufacturing.
However, the company has not disclosed a specific number of new jobs expected from the fourth unit.
