MSD Inaugurates 2.5 Lakh Sq Ft Technology Centre in Hyderabad

Global biopharmaceutical company MSD has inaugurated a 2.5 lakh sq ft Technology Centre in Hyderabad’s Hitec City, expanding its capabilities in digital technology, data, analytics, artificial intelligence, technology and engineering.

The new centre will support MSD’s global Human Health business and form part of the company’s worldwide technology network.

Teams based in Hyderabad will work on enterprise technology solutions, collaborate with colleagues across global locations and support MSD’s digital operations.

Centre to Support Global Technology Operations

The Hyderabad Technology Centre brings together capabilities across digital, data, analytics, AI and engineering. According to MSD, the facility will enable teams in India to contribute to enterprise solutions supporting the company’s operations globally.

Abhishek Narayan Singh, Senior Vice-President, Digital Human Health, MSD, said the centre reflects the company’s long-term commitment to building digital capabilities at scale.

He said Hyderabad’s technology ecosystem, digital talent and technology capabilities make it an important location for MSD’s operations.

The centre was inaugurated by D. Sridhar Babu, Telangana Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Industries and Commerce and Legislative Affairs.

Senior MSD executives, including Ritesh Srivastava, Executive Director, MSD, were also present at the inauguration.

Hyderabad’s Growing Life Sciences and Technology Ecosystem

The investment comes as Hyderabad continues to develop as a centre for life sciences, technology and research.

Telangana has more than 2,000 life sciences companies, and the state government is seeking to expand the sector beyond manufacturing towards research, innovation and global technology operations.

The state government’s Next-Gen Life Sciences Policy 2026–30 aims to bring together different parts of the life sciences value chain, including discovery, manufacturing, clinical research and technology.

The government has also said it plans to expand the number of Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in the state.

Hyderabad’s existing life sciences infrastructure, including Genome Valley, combined with its established technology ecosystem, is increasingly attracting global healthcare and pharmaceutical companies.

Recent expansions by companies such as Amgen, Eli Lilly, Bristol Myers Squibb, Sanofi, Align Technology and Zoetis have added to the city’s life sciences and technology base.

For MSD, the new Technology Centre will provide a base for technology teams working on global enterprise solutions while adding digital and engineering capabilities to the company’s operations in India.

The centre also strengthens Hyderabad’s role in supporting technology-led work for global healthcare businesses.
