Welspun Corp has secured an order worth approximately ₹5,500 crore ($580 million) from a major US midstream company to supply coated steel pipes for a natural gas pipeline project in the Permian Basin, United States. The contract is linked to gas supplies for a data centre complex operated by a leading global hyperscaler.

The order was secured by Welspun Tubular LLC, the company’s US subsidiary, and is scheduled for execution during the financial year 2028-29 (FY29), according to the company’s stock exchange filing reported on 23 October 2026.
Order Book Reaches Record $5.25 Billion
With this contract, Welspun Corp’s global order book has increased to a record $5.25 billion, equivalent to approximately ₹50,000 crore, the company said.
The order comes amid rising demand for energy infrastructure to support the expansion of data centres, including facilities used for artificial intelligence (AI) workloads. These facilities require substantial and reliable power supplies, creating additional demand for natural gas transportation infrastructure.

US Operations Secure Major Contracts
The latest order follows another major contract secured by Welspun Tubular LLC in September 2026. The subsidiary won an order worth approximately $412.5 million (₹4,000 crore) to supply high-frequency induction welded (HFIW) pipes from its upgraded manufacturing facility in Little Rock, Arkansas.
That contract was scheduled for execution during FY28 and FY29. The latest order further adds to the company’s pipeline of work in the US market.

Welspun Corp manufactures steel pipes used in oil and gas transportation and other infrastructure projects. Its US business is positioned to benefit from investments in pipeline networks and growing energy requirements.
Business Outlook
The latest contract connects Welspun Corp’s pipeline business with the expanding data centre infrastructure market. However, the order’s execution is scheduled for FY29, and its contribution to revenue will depend on the agreed delivery schedule and project execution.
The record order book provides visibility into future business activity, while the company’s ability to deliver its contracts on schedule will remain important.
