Godrej Capital Expands LGBTQIA+ Hiring with BeYou Internship

Reinforcing its commitment to workplace diversity and inclusion, Godrej Capital, the financial services arm of the Godrej Industries Group, has strengthened its efforts to create career opportunities for LGBTQIA+ professionals through its flagship affirmative internship initiative, BeYou, during Pride Month.

The company said the program has become an important talent pipeline, helping LGBTQIA+ candidates gain industry exposure while building long-term careers within the organisation.
BeYou Creates Career Opportunities
Launched to improve access to employment for LGBTQIA+ talent, the BeYou internship program provides participants with six months of hands-on work experience across customer-facing and support functions. Interns work on real business projects while gaining practical exposure to different aspects of the company’s operations.
According to Godrej Capital, 50% of BeYou interns have successfully transitioned into full-time roles, highlighting the program’s effectiveness in creating sustainable career opportunities rather than short-term internships.

Building Inclusive Leadership
Beyond hiring initiatives, the company continues to support Pride Capital Rising, a mentorship program that connects LGBTQIA+ professionals with senior leaders and allies from across industries.
The initiative aims to strengthen leadership development, professional networking, and career growth for LGBTQIA+ employees.
Godrej Capital has also expanded its Queer Inclusion Program across its branch network to increase awareness, encourage allyship, and promote inclusive workplace practices for employees at every level.

Growing LGBTQIA+ Representation
The company said it now has more than 40 LGBTQIA+ employees, representing a 10-fold increase in representation over time. The growth reflects its ongoing focus on creating equitable opportunities and fostering a workplace where employees can thrive regardless of their identity.
Bhavya Misra, Chief Human Resources Officer at Godrej Capital, said inclusion goes beyond recruitment and focuses on creating meaningful growth opportunities.
“At Godrej Capital, we believe inclusion is most meaningful when it creates access and opportunity. Through initiatives such as BeYou, we are building pathways that enable LGBTQIA+ talent to enter, grow, and thrive within the organisation,” she added.
Bhavya further said, “Our focus extends beyond hiring to creating an environment where individuals feel a genuine sense of belonging and have equitable access to development and growth opportunities.”
Pride Month Celebrations
As part of Pride Month, Godrej Capital organised several employee engagement activities across its offices.
The celebrations included Pride Marches, cultural performances by transgender artists, and the unveiling of a permanent mural in collaboration with the Aaravani Art Project.
These initiatives were aimed at promoting inclusion, visibility, and a stronger sense of belonging within the workplace.
Final Comments
As organisations increasingly focus on diversity and equitable hiring, initiatives like BeYou demonstrate how structured internship and mentorship programs can create lasting career pathways for underrepresented communities.
By combining recruitment, leadership development, and workplace inclusion, Godrej Capital is positioning diversity as a long-term business commitment rather than a symbolic Pride Month initiative.
