HSBC has opened applications for an Apprentice – HR role in Mumbai, offering graduates an opportunity to gain practical experience across areas such as employee benefits, global mobility, wellbeing, HR reporting and vendor management.

The hybrid, full-time position was listed on its LinkedIn page on September 24, 2026. The opportunity is part of HSBC’s People, Governance & Communications function.

The bank’s HR team works across areas including talent management, succession planning, employee mobility, performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and employee engagement.

What the HR Apprentice Will Work On

According to the job description, the selected apprentice will support HR activities for business teams and work with colleagues and external vendors.

The role includes exposure to several areas of HR operations and reporting. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting activities related to recognition, global mobility, employee benefits and wellbeing
  • Working with internal teams, vendors and suppliers on HR initiatives
  • Supporting HR reporting and data analysis
  • Keeping track of relevant policies, market developments and regulatory changes

The apprentice will also be expected to interpret HR data and reporting and provide analysis to stakeholders. HSBC has listed familiarity with AI-enabled tools as an advantage for the role.

The listed educational requirement is a graduate degree. HSBC also mentions stakeholder management, analytical skills, collaboration and business understanding among the skills that would be useful for the position.

The apprenticeship has a one-year tenure under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, as amended. HSBC states that apprentices will be featured on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal.

On completing the one-year tenure, a Certificate of Proficiency will be issued by the Government of India, where applicable under the Act.
